Brisbane GP & Travel Clinic is a mixed billing practice. Consultation fees are payable in full at the time of consultation by cash, EFTPOS, credit card, or cheque. Medicare rebates can be deposited into your savings or cheque account at the same time. We also operate TYRO, facilitating instant Medicare rebates. To use this service, please bring a savings card to your appointment as we are unable to refund Medicare rebates onto credit cards.
A list of consultation fees, including for pensioners, healthcare card holders, veterans, and children under 16 is displayed in the reception area.
Patients with financial difficulties should speak with reception staff prior to an appointment, either in person or via telephone.
In addition to consultation fees, a materials fee will be charged for all dressings, materials used in procedures, contraceptives, and certain vaccines. The materials fee applies to all patients (including concession cardholders).
Patients without Medicare Cards or where the MBS Schedule does not apply, a fee will be made to our practice in accordance to or below the AMA recommended fee.
*You must have the correct level of cover with your insurer. Please contact us via email when booking your appointment and we can check for you.
Brisbane GP & Travel Doctor provides on-site Allied Health services. There may be an out-of-pocket expense for this service. To find out about what costs are involved with these services, please speak to reception by calling our clinic on 3236 9599.
Some vaccines are not covered by Medicare. If you are unsure which vaccine you require, you can speak to your doctor during your appointment. Our friendly reception team can also advise you of the cost of the vaccine you require.
Medical Reports issued for private institutions, such as insurance or legal companies or for pre-employment purposes or for Commercial Driver’s License or Diving Medicals will attract a fee. This fee will be discussed prior to providing such services.
